It's Gone!

Posted by Crayon Marks Posted on: 12/02/08

It's Gone!

I heard him scream from the other room, "Mommy, it's GONE!"

Yes, my son's first tooth came out after more than a month of being loose.  He is so excited and so are we!  He knew it was gone as soon as he woke up this morning and I was relieved to find it in his bed; I was afraid he may have swallowed it.

A good friend of mine gave me this ceramic tooth dish when Ryan was a newborn and I have never shown it to Ryan until this morning.

The look on his face when he saw his name on it was priceless!  It was such a "moment" that I had tears in my eyes.  My baby is growing up way too fast.

He left for school anxious to arrive and be the first one in his kindergarten class to have lost a tooth in the month of December. He'll get to write his name on the tooth chart. It is so much fun to watch him experience these special times.

Now I am hunting for another box for Cole, who is now walking around the house attempting to wiggle a tooth out of his mouth. All teeth are in his mouth at this moment, as solid as a rock in concrete. HOWEVER, let us not forget that HE is my adventurous child. Need I say more?

Anyway, I've seen some tooth fairy boxes on the Internet, but the handwriting on them looks unprofessional. Anyone know where I can get one similar to this?

The Tooth Fairy will arrive tonight and I need some inside "Mommy scoop" from those of you with children.  How much does the Tooth Fairy leave these days and what do you do with the tooth?!  Go easy on me with the cost of the Tooth Fairy---remember yesterday's entry---I've already gave the "M" in Merry Christmas to the repairman yesterday. LOL

  • Ooh, I didn't get this in time to chime in -- sorry! At our house the Tooth Fairy leaves a dollar bill and a special dollar coin -- Sacagawea, silver, or Susan B. Anthony. Both often have a dusting of fairy glitter on them... which happens to look very similar to that clear glue with glitter you can find at the craft store? :) Sometimes the Tooth Fairy has to leave a note, like when the tooth is lost-lost (as in swung around whip-style in the little box the teacher gave the child until the tooth was actually missing from the box, surprise, surprise) and she uses swirly pink letters and there's some glittery stuff on that, too. She is magical, I tell you, magical! :)
